A little twist on a classic fantasy story device, made in collaboration with Kat Tuesday.
A wordless comic for the Lost in the Weeds anthology from Let's Make Comics. I experimented with a tone-paper-style shading technique on this one that gives it a bit of a manga look that I rather like. I had been playing a lot of Elden Ring when I made this, and it definitely shows.
My entry for the Highbrow anthology from Let's Make Comics. This story is set in the universe of The Silver Desert Scoundrels and shows a little slice-of-life adventure in this solar system where super-advanced technology has become hard to distinguish from magic.
My entry for the Tasty! anthology from Let's Make Comics. A short story about chasing down the ingredients for the perfect drink, set in the universe of my ongoing science-fantasy concept The Silver Desert Scoundrels. This was done using entirely traditional pen-and-ink methods, with white gouache for some of the effects.
The harrowing true story of my encounters with nature (if raccoons count as nature) after moving to a house in the suburbs. The raccoons have since been displaced in our back yard by rabbits.
If you ever thought conducting was easy, maybe this cautionary tale will set you straight.
My entry for the Out of the Deep anthology from Let's Make Comics. This was the first time I'd ever contributed to this Chicago-based collective, and I've had a blast working with the group ever since. This piece was made with ink and liquid acrylic, which was hard to control but gave some very cool watery effects.
A short story from my first playthrough of No Man's Sky when it was released in 2016. The game is so celebrated now, after years of major additions and overhauls, that it's easy to forget how disappointing it was considered on launch. For my part, I enjoyed the rough early version immensely, and this is me attempting to capture why.
